In attempts to bridge gender equity gaps, the NCAA has included the 2022 women’s college basketball championship in March Madness for the first time ever.
The double March madness got underway last week, with the NCAA women’s championship unveiled on March 13th, after being suspended due to the covid pandemic for two consecutive years.
Following last year’s video that went viral by Oregon forward Sedona Prince highlighting the differences between the men’s and women’s tournaments, this year, and for the first time ever, the women’s tournament has expanded from 64 to 68 teams, and is now part of March Madness.
